Corey Stroffolino (La Dispute)

“The Black Hole Symmetry is my go to noise-maker”

“On Tour with La Dispute the Black Hole Symmetry is my go to noise-maker. I love that you have to reckon with the controls. Even if you have the manual in front of you, the BHS begs for experimentation. It makes it all the more exciting when you are making guitar textures in real time on stage. Also, let's be honest. The Disintegrate knob is the one I've been looking for all along!

I have been making a lot of music at home since we can't tour right now and have really dug into reamping certain sounds though my guitar pedals as a creative mixing tool. Using Singularity as a parallel process on kick and snare has helped create extra dimensions and excitement to my drums tracks.

I believe in the creative potential of the BHS and the careful craftsmanship of it's creators. Here is a noise-beat I made where every sound except drums was made with the BHS and my guitar. The drums themselves were, of course, run through singularity and disintegrated. Other than some slight stereo imaging done in my daw, the BHS is the only process on any audio in this track.”
